Mannai Narayanasamy College of Physiotherapy has established various statutory and functional committees to ensure effective governance, academic quality, student welfare, and a safe campus environment. All committees function in accordance with University, Government, and regulatory guidelines, promoting transparency, accountability, and institutional excellence.

Anti-Ragging Committee & Cell


The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Cell as per statutory norms.

Functions:
  • Prevention of ragging in any form within the campus and hostels
  • Creating awareness among students about anti-ragging regulations
  • Monitoring and addressing complaints promptly
  • Ensuring a safe, fear-free learning environment

Strict disciplinary action is taken against offenders as per Government and University regulations.

Punishments for Indulging in Ragging


Ragging is totally prohibited in the institution, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished. The institution may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad, award, to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishments, namely:


  • Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  • Withholding / withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding Examination results.
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  • Suspension / expulsion from the hostel.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Suspension from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
  • Penalty of Rs.25,000/- to 1,00,000/-

Women's Cell


FEMINA – Women Empowerment Cell, Mannai Narayanasamy College of Physiotherapy, was established on 02 August 2005 with the primary aim of empowering women and helping them recognize their true potential.


FEMINA strives to guide and support young women in achieving their goals and establishing their identity in a competitive world. The cell focuses on nurturing students to become confident individuals and successful contributors to society.


It also aims to empower young women by promoting emotional, physical, and mental well-being, enabling them to face the evolving challenges of life with strength and resilience.

Since its inception, FEMINA has organized numerous lectures and awareness programs addressing various issues related to women. In addition to academic enrichment, the cell actively conducts extracurricular activities such as:

Objectives of Women's Cell (NSS)

  • Conducting health awareness classes.
  • Arranging lectures about community living and providing hands-on training in social work and community engagement.
  • To resolve issues pertaining to girls' and women's sexual harassment.
  • To equip female students and faculty with knowledge for promoting awareness relating to women in the present social context, information on legal rights, policies, and counseling support.
  • To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redressal of grievances.
  • To incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
  • To safeguard the rights of female students, faculty members, and staff.

Grievance Redressal Committee


The Grievance Redressal Committee ensures that student and staff grievances are addressed in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.

Journal Club


The Journal Club is established to foster a culture of evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and continuous professional development among students and faculty members.

Sports Club


The Sports Club focuses on the physical well-being, team spirit, and overall holistic development of students by promoting a vibrant sports culture on campus.

Youth Red Cross (YRC)


The Youth Red Cross (YRC) cell functions in accordance with humanitarian principles to inculcate social responsibility, civic awareness, and a spirit of service among young health professionals.

Functions:
  • Organizing blood donation camps, health screening drives, and community-based health awareness programs.
  • Providing training in first aid, disaster management, and emergency response care.
  • Promoting a spirit of voluntary service, empathy, and humanitarian care towards underprivileged sections of society.
